About Walks + Whiskers

Originally from Vermont, Amanda Buck has lived in Raleigh since 2010 and currently lives in the downtown area. She has always had pets and a great love for animals, and is excited to share that love with other pets in Raleigh.

Amanda has a B.S. in Animal Science and has been working as a small animal veterinary technician since 2009. This includes 4 years in the ICU at NC State’s College of Veterinary Medicine caring for small animals in the most critical condition. You can trust that she has your pet’s best interests in mind and the medical knowledge to keep them safe and healthy while in her care.

She currently has two dogs, a standard poodle named Guinness and a beagle mix named Bernice, and two cats affectionately named Black Cat and Grey Cat.

Amanda is fully committed to taking care of your pets. She started Walks + Whiskers with the intention of providing pet care full time. Her experience as a veterinary technician means she knows what health signs to look out for and allows her to provide services to animals that need special care.
